Welcome to
Healthy U at SU!
Wellness
is the
condition of good physical and mental health, especially when
maintained by proper diet, exercise, and habits.
Wellness can mean many things to many people. We know it is an
important part of work and life, yet because of it's many components
and the diverse nature of our campus community, it is difficult
to construct one definition of wellness that applies to all.
Using a wellness approach, this site is designed to cover six
wellness dimensions: Physical, Intellectual, Spiritual,
Occupational, Emotional, and Social. We
want to offer students,
faculty, staff and members of the Salisbury community
information and resources to create and maintain a
healthy approach to life.

on any area of the
wheel to learn more
and get updates on events happening on campus and the surround
areas.

Wellness Dimensions:
Occupational
- Involved in
preparing for work in which one will gain personal satisfaction
and enrichment through work.
Emotional- taking care of
yourself so that you are more prepared to deal with life's
stresses.
Physical -
Ability to apply your
knowledge, motivation, commitment, behavior, self management,
attitude, and skills toward achieving your personal fitness and
health goals.
Social - The
interdependence with others and nature to enhance the building
of a just and caring community.
Intellectual -
Active participation in scholastic cultural
and community activities.
Spiritual
-
When we are in tuned with our
spiritual selves we can find meaning in life events, comfort
when things aren't going well, the beauty in life the ability to
be compassionate towards other and individual purpose.
